Risk to Consider in Buying Used Cars

A used-car, simply put, means a car that has been owned and used by someone else before you. For how long the use was, you don’t know. It sounds simple but it denotes a bundle of negative meaning into it. But, because of the fact that the price of a new car has gone up and is quite expensive, the purchase ratio of a used-car to new car has increased.

Before you buy a used-car, you must need to know more about the car you are about to buy. You must methodically know the car’s history, the mileages used, maintenance done on the car, the terms and condition involve in the purchase, etc.

And after doing the thorough going through process, and before you finally decide to buy the said used-car, please take note of the following disadvantages that go with it.

Major Disadvantages:

* Purchase of a used-car entails a higher interest rate than that of a new car. This is because the purchase involves a lot more risk for the loaner while lending loans on used-cars.
* Availability for a 0% loan and financing for a used-car are rare.
* Non-guaranty/non-warranty is offered for the purchase of a used-car. You will not be able to know if it is in good running condition or if has traveled distant mileages already. The used-car you are about to purchase may have engine and transmission problems that you won’t detect at the time of purchase which will result in your spending a lot of money with the maintenance than you will spend in purchasing a new one.
* The life-span of a used-car is shorter than that of a new one.
* Purchasing a used car may give you unending car problems in the long run.

So, before buying a used-car, be sure that the low price you are going to pay for it will not cost you more in the future.
